ELEMENT CUP

Element Cup Details

When: Saturday 28th March 2026

Time: 12.30pm to 6.30pm

Where: Coorparoo Pool, Halstead Street

Aim: To get all squad swimmers from Element Swimming together to compete in a special event, that gives swimmers one last opportunity to improve their PB’s before the end of the season. Also engage with swimmers and coaches from other pools, witness some exciting presentations and most of all have fun. 

How it works: Swimmers or parents will register via the Swim Club Connect app and nominate for each of the swims the swimmer wishes to compete in. Age is on the day of the meet Saturday 28th March. Swimmers don’t have to compete in all strokes if they don’t want to but the more chances of winning points for your team the better.

The special events are where the coaching tactics come into play with coaches selecting 2 swimmers for each special event and 8 for the relay event, but any one swimmer can only compete in 1 special event.  

Cost: $20 for one swimmer (capped at $50 per family) | parents & spectators free
Cost will be added to your ICP account once you’ve registered. Swimmers will receive a free team cap on the day and there will be a sausage sizzle provided afterwards for all swimmers, parents and spectators. 

Nominations: Open on Monday 2nd of March. Entries will strictly close on Tuesday 24th March at midnight. 

Eligibility: Any swimmer that currently swims with Element swimming on a weekly basis and is in either the Development, Bronze, Silver, Gold or National squad. Age of the swimmer on the day of the meet to determine whether to enter under 9 or 10 & over.

Bring: Swimmers will be asked to wear something in their team colour and bring a loud and proud attitude. No race suits allowed, only general racing or training togs. 

Food & drinks: Sausage sizzle will be provided as part of the entry fee.

Timeline

12.30pm to 1.30pm - Group Warm Up & Team Building Activities:

 - Meet with team for land warm up and activities, get to know your team.


1.30pm to 2.00pm - Pool Warm Up


2.00pm to 2.30pm - National Team Presentations & Pool Captains Announced


2.30pm to 5.30pm - Racing

Refer to ‘swim club connect’ app for events, swimmers heats and lanes. Swimmers must wear team caps.


5.30pm to 5.45pm - Announcement of Element Shield Team and caps

- Coaches will announce their chosen swimmers to represent their pool and present them with a cap to wear.


5.45pm – BBQ ready for dinner:

- Snags in a roll with sauces or salad

- Snags on a plate with awesome salads

- Juice poppers for all swimmers


6.00pm to 6.15pm - Element Shield Team Relay


6.15pm to 6.30pm - Presentation of Element Cup and Element Shield

- Announce points score for all teams and present cup to the winning team.

- Announce winner of the PoolWerx best cheering team and present them with their winnings.

- Announce Element Shield winners and present them with the shield.

- Wrap up & thank you

Special Event 1 - Mixed 50m Kick (board) (2 swimmers from each team)

Special Event 2 – Mixed Freestyle Skins (2 male’s swimmers from each team and 2 female swimmers from each team, Male and Female events)

 

Event 5 - 9/U 25m Backstroke

Event 6 - 10 & Over 50m Backstroke

 

Special Event 3 – Mystery medley (2 swimmers from each team)

 

Event 7 - 9/U 25m Butterfly

Event 8 - 10 & Over 50m Butterfly

                                   

Special Event 4 – 1 x 50m freestyle (Coach or Parents race – This is a coach’s race where they can swim or select a parent to race for them) 2 competitors from each team. *Parent must be a swimmer that’s in your team

 

Special Event 5 – 8 x 50m F/s Relay (2 of each age group = 1 Male & Female 13 & over, 12/u, 10/u, 8/u in that order.

All special event swimmers will be selected by the coaches on the day.

 

Points: Will be awarded to the top 20 place getters in each 50m and 25m event male and female combined, there will be 1pt awarded to every competitor in that event after 20th.


Element Shield (Pool vs Pool)

 

12 x 50 - In this order:

- 2 x back (1 normal start in the water and 1 dive (on back by 15m)

- 2 x Breast

- 2 x Fly

- 6 x Free

*Team’s must use both a male and female from each of the following age groups: 8/U,9/U, 10/U, 11/U, 12/U & 13&Over.

 

*Rules:

-      No coaches or parents allowed

-      Must have been swimming with Element Swimming for at least 1 month

-      Swimmers can swim up but not down and ONLY IF YOU HAVE NO ONE IN THE AGE CATEGORY! You must use the swimmer if you have one.

-      Swimmers must be swimming at the pool for the majority of their sessions

-      Any swimmer can swim any stroke

-      Regular Fina Relay rules apply

 

Which pool will have bragging rights!! Coaches get to work on your team!

 

Nominations Now Open!

1)   Download the ‘Swim Club Connect app’

2)   Type in ‘Element Swimming’ (ES) as the club

3)   Type 7800 for the code

4)   Add your swimmer or swimmers in (+ swimmer)

5)   Go to meets at the bottom and select Element Cup and enter the correct age group events for your swimmers by pressing nominate.

6)   Volunteer for a job on the day (BBQ/ Points Score/ Timekeepers & Marshaling)
