  • Which level should I enrol my child in?

    We will need to assess your child’s swimming ability before determining which level to place them in. Please book a free 15 min assessment with our friendly team here.

  • How many kids are in a class?

    For Level 0 to Level 4 - up to 4 swimmers

    For Mini Squad - up to 6 swimmers


    After swimmers finish all requirements for Mini Squad, they will be ready for Development squad which can have up to 15 kids across 4 x 25m swimming lanes.

  • Does my child need to go to the schools that you operate at?

    No, we welcome swimmers from anywhere! You do not need to be a student at Coorparoo, Holland Park or Indooroopilly schools.

  • What does my swimmer need to bring?

    Learn to Swim

    - Swimwear

    - Goggles

    - Swimming cap

    - Towel


    Squads (Land Training)

    - Active clothing suitable for light exercises

    - Comfortable running shoes


    Squads (Swim)

    - Swimwear

    - Goggles

    - Swimming cap

    - Fins (name clearly marked)

    - Kickboard (name clearly marked)

    - Pull buoy (name clearly marked)

    - Gear bag to keep swimming equipment in.

  • Do you offer make up lessons?

    Students are eligible for 1 make-up lesson per month if the absence is reported via the customer portal. Makeup tokens are valid for 4 weeks from issue date.


    Availability of make-up lessons is not guaranteed.

    Once a make up is scheduled, it can not be re-scheduled or carried over to another term.

    Ideally, you will never need a makeup class since consistency is a key to swimming progress. Please honour the spirit of this privilege and only use it for illness or an occasional special event.

  • Is the pool heated?

    Yes. We check the temperature daily to ensure the water is perfect for swimmers.

  • Do lessons run on public holidays?

    No we are closed on public holidays. Fees will reflect the number of lessons per term, discounting for any lessons that may fall on a public holiday.

  • What is your wet weather policy?

    Classes will only be cancelled in the event of a thunderstorm or severe cyclonic weather.


    Classes will continue as scheduled in wet weather.

     

    In the event of a thunderstorm during your scheduled lesson time, Element Swimming may be required to cancel the class or re-schedule the class time as a safety precaution. We will endeavour to arrange a make-up lesson for those swimmers whose classes are affected by storms, please monitor your inbox for information about these classes.


    We monitor the weather radar and we evaluate the situation every half hour and will know no sooner than 30 minutes before your scheduled class time. We make every effort to contact families via email and our app to keep them abreast of the situation. Please do not assume that your class has been cancelled, check our Facebook page or call to verify.

  • How do I pay my fees?

    We will debit your account on the 3rd of every month for the number of swims your child is enrolled in that month.

  • When do you run learn to swim classes for children?

    We run lessons at the following times:


    Monday to Friday PM

    3.15pm to 5.45pm


    Saturday AM

    8am to 11am

  • Do you offer private lessons?

    Yes we offer private lessons – it’s a great way to fine tune skills or catch up after long periods of time without lessons. The cost is $45 for one 30 min lesson. These can be arranged at a time suitable for you so please get in touch.

  • Do you operate all year-round?

    Yes, we offer a learn to swim and squad program that runs all year round where swimmers can start and finish at any time. This means we run continuously, including throughout the school holidays.


    The continuity of lessons play a crucial role in your child’s learning and development of swimming and water safety. This is why we encourage year round participation. There’s no need to re-book at the beginning of every term.


    Once you have made a booking for a particular day and time, that lesson remains yours until you inform us otherwise.

  • How do I cancel swimming?

    We understand that family life is constantly changing, and therefore at any time you are free to take a break or finish up your lessons with notice of 14 days PRIOR to the next debit period.


    To discontinue your lessons simply login to your Parent Portal online or via our app and request an Enrolment Drop. Non-attendance is not a reason for Direct Debit to cease, as it is the customer’s responsibility to notify the swim school of any changes to their enrolment, including cancelling their enrolment via our Parent Portal or App.

  • How do I change our class day or time?

    Our class times are created to accommodate busy schedules like yours. If your schedule changes, simply login to your Parent Portal online or via our app and request a Enrolment Transfer to a day and time that suits!

  • Are there opportunities to swim competively?

    Yes of course! Element Swimming has a Swimming Queensland affiliated club for swimmers aged 8 years and over who would like to compete at meets.
